Tromsø Fjord Cruise

We saw two white-tailed eagles circle the boat right after the first stop at Ryøya, and our guide seemed just as excited as we were. The fish soup at Ramfjord was the best thing I ate all trip. Worth every penny.

Gorgeous scenery and a genuinely knowledgeable crew. We didn't catch much fish that day, but the crew kept everyone entertained anyway. Would have liked a bit more time at the last stop before heading back.

I've done a fair number of boat tours around the Atlantic coast back home, and this one stands apart. The boat never felt rushed between stops, which I appreciated after some tours that treat every stop like a checklist item. At Ramfjord we had real free time to just sit and watch the water. Our guide's stories about the region's fishing history added a lot of context I wouldn't have picked up otherwise. Bring warm layers — even with the suits provided, the wind off the water has a bite to it.

My family and I were nervous about seasickness, but the water stayed calm the whole way and the boat felt very stable. The onboard meal was a nice surprise — we weren't expecting a full hot soup on a boat tour. My kids still talk about the otters we spotted near the shore.

Beautiful trip overall. The guide's English was easy to follow and very informative. Only reason for four stars instead of five is that the boat felt a little full for a "small group" experience — still much smaller than the big tourist boats we saw elsewhere, to be fair.

Watching the mountains change color as the light shifted was something photos really don't capture properly. Booking in advance is worth it, as the smaller boat clearly fills up.

What stood out most was the pacing — nothing felt rushed, and the crew were happy to slow down further when we spotted a pod of dolphins near the boat.
